Description

CEC is looking for both established and emerging leaders who are interested in being part of our growing community – outstanding professionals who combine strong consulting and business development skills with a strong technical foundation – to foster and expand a network of excellent client relationships in the Mining Sector industry. As a CEC Manager, you will be supporting growth the mining consulting practice in the southwestern United States with emphasis in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, California and Colorado. You should have to ability to manage projects and grow project teams to navigate today’s complex mining regulatory landscape, help our aggregate and hardrock mining clients to secure permits and/or complete projects in a timely manner while achieving compliance with regulatory criteria. Your work will influence the entire project – from assessment and investigation, to conceptual design plans, through completion of permitting, bidding, and construction. You will also serve as a mentor to junior staff, educating them about the mining/aggregates industry, about field data collection, engineering and environmental design parameters, as well as the regulatory criteria as they relate to the aggregate and hardrock mining industries in the southwestern US. The ideal candidate would work in the Phoenix Arizona office, be registered in his/her discipline, have consulting/client relationship experience and be able to grow a local team of mining practitioners.   This opportunity is catered to a Senior - Principal level professional looking to advance their career as a leader within the CEC mining sector (Ranked #7 in ENR 2020), and to make a significant impact in successfully implementing CEC's strategy.



Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering;
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Arizona or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing mining-related consultancy services,  civil engineering, permitting and/or environmental compliance activities for mining companies in the southwestern US;
  • Strong working knowledge of state (particularly Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, California and Colorado) and federal environmental laws and regulations as they relate to aggregate and hardrock mining;
  • Experience working with regulatory agency personnel in the southwestern US;
  • Experience with client relationship management and business development; and,
  • Ability to speak and write professionally, including experience with preparation of regulatory submittals, as well as preparation and delivery of technical documents/presentations.
