Purpose:

Our business is growing, and we need additional experienced people to join our team! The successful candidate will be planning, co-ordinating and managing the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of assigned large capital projects.  Additionally, he/she will ensure clear agreement of client objectives, and these objectives are met or exceeded, achieve or better the budgeted gross margin and provide strong HSE leadership.

Provides direction and management on study projects to ensure the completion in accordance with contractual obligations. Defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Plans, organizes, manages, and controls projects with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the Worley. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders.

Typically manages a single or multiple study projects of high-risk elements. Ability to visualize and design new concepts and ideas related to technical/functional projects. Broad knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and sometimes lead organizational change effectively within project scope. Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other individuals. Typically manages work directly through project leads or other project managers. Often serve as a proposal manager for large and mega projects.

Manage general activities of organization's operations. Develop and implement company policies and procedures as well as ensure compliance with these procedures. Evaluate and enhance current operational systems. Prepare reports and audits to monitor and improve operations effectiveness. Operate as a Study Manager with focus on delivering value enhancing solutions to Worley MMM Clients through early phase project development scopes. Lead the enhancement of our MMM study management capabilities (skills, processes, and quality) to a world’s best standard helping us to win and deliver the MMM strategic studies that lead our pull through growth strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and develop tactical plans for implementing organizational goals and oversee the design of new concepts and ideas related to projects as well as functional area of expertise.
  • Broad knowledge of functional area and ability to implement and lead organizational project change effectively; Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other individuals.
  • Delivers senior study management for key projects, supporting the execution of business tactics aligned to deliver the MMM strategy and improving the studies delivery capabilities growth.
  • Responsible for management of the best practice study management processes in Worley MMM sector.
  • Review and provide quality input to study deliverables produced by your project teams.
  • Generate execution and resourcing plans for study proposals.
  • Contribute and make recommendations to the evolution the MMM Sector Strategy.
  • Contribute to thought leadership in the MMM sector.
  • Provide execution governance for complex studies.
  • Maintain and grow a network of project development executives with the MMM sector, collaborating with Worley community of practice for world best practice in study management with peers across all sectors.
  • Participate in business development activities, achieving quality in study execution activities, with the outcome of increasing our successful pull through from early-stage projects into later stage project execution.


Requirements

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience: 

  • Experience in Front End Studies & Advisory, Concept/Select, Consulting, PFS, FS, and NI 43-101 and SK-1300 reporting.
  • MMM background, preferably including experience in base metals, precious metals, and energy transition minerals.
  • Proven experience in process standardization for front-end studies.
  • Direct experience in the application of multiple front-end project development and management approaches including Design Optimization, Value Engineering, Lead Design etc.
  • Proven aptitude for ‘front-end’ consulting and have track record in using front-end work to apply innovation and technology.
  • Significant proven ability to engage with clients and lead business development and proposals.
  • Excellent presentation skills (presentations of solutions/concepts/study recommendations etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Effective communication, listening skills to present complex proposals, reports, and studies to senior level management. Ability to persuade and influence others. Participative management style with a cooperative team approach. 
  • Value improvement focus, with demonstrable skills in value optimization and business case shaping.
  • Strategic pursuit and proposal development.
  • Proposal write-up including technical, value proposition and vision objectives.
  • Envision engineering and project execution methodologies.
  • Technical and business presentations to clients.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years’ Mining, Minerals & Metals industry experience managing study projects required.
  • 5+ years ESP (Engineering Service Products) experience required.
