Arlington County's Department of Environmental Services (DES), is seeking an Active Transportation Coordinator. This position, formerly titled the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Coordinator, will continue managing the same portfolio of work, including the County's bicycle and pedestrian, active transportation, and micro-mobility programs.
Specific duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
Developing long-range plans related to active transportation, including bicycle, pedestrian, and micro-mobility device travel;
Updating and working to implement the County's Master Transportation Plan (MTP);
Participating in land use-related and other plans and studies conducted by other County departments, including input and review of other County or regional land use and open space or transportation plans that may impact travel via active transportation in Arlington;
Managing and Developing capital projects from concept to final implementation to improve infrastructure for active transportation modes, including CIP development for WalkArlington and BikeArlington capital projects;
Supervising an Associate Planner to support the bicycle, pedestrian, active transportation, and micro-mobility programs;
Performing other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering or similar program; and
Three years of progressively responsible experience in transportation planning.
