The Center for Personalized Medicine and Division of Genomic Medicine in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California are seeking an outstanding candidate with expertise in the molecular genetics of childhood diseases as a full-time faculty member with clinical service, research (clinical and translational), and teaching responsibilities at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. He/she will join a senior team with expertise in clinical and molecular genetics, cytogenetics and genomics in the Center for Personalized Medicine.
The successful candidate must hold a M.D., D.O. and/or Ph.D. degree, and be board certified/eligible in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology by ABP or Clinical Molecular Genetics by the ABMGG. Expertise in developing and interpreting molecular genetic tests relevant to the diagnosis of pediatric genetic diseases and cancer is required. Experience with next-generation sequencing based panels and whole exome sequencing is desired. The successful candidate will participate in multi-disciplinary clinical teams working with colleagues in Anatomic Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, and clinical colleagues across a wide range of specialities at CHLA and KSOM.
