We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team responsible for the industry leading Powermax plasma product line.

As a Quality Engineer at Hypertherm you will:
Identify and assess areas of risk and develop/deploy contingency plans partnering with other internal functions including design, manufacturing, engineering, test, and reliability.
Coordinate technical activities related to customer quality issues including the investigation from the initial complaint to problem resolution.
Develop, implement, and maintain a Supplier Quality Management process to ensure acceptable quality and cost of purchased materials, components, and services.
Provide insight to others (design, manufacturing, engineering, procurement) in the selection, approval, and sustaining of suppliers.
Identify trends in quality performance and execute root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
Manage the Light Industrial System team’s Quality Systems to ensure compliance to ISO9001 requirements, including documentation, internal audits, equipment/gauge calibration, nonconforming material/product handling, and the overall Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BSEE preferred) Open to considering a BS in Mechanical Engineering with strong electro-mechanical systems experience with 8+ years of related experience in the high-technology industry.
Additional experience for this role:
Experience with Supplier Management methodologies, including exposure to international suppliers
Experience with New Product Introduction’s stage-gate process
Problem-solving techniques/tools (root cause analysis/corrective action, Global 8D, DMAIC)
Descriptive/inferential statistics and statistical tools (SPC, DOE)
Quality tools (quality auditing, cost of poor quality, control plans)
Quality management system standards (ISO9001, TS16949)
Risk assessment (fault tree analysis, FMEA – design/process)
Experience with electronic/electrical product development in a manufacturing environment
