Senior Consultant – Geology & Mineral Economics
Specialization: Construction Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Location: [USA] Type: Full-Time
The Opportunity: Lead the Field & The Boardroom Burgex Mining Consultants is the “Tech-Enabled Specialist” for the mining industry. We are looking for a high-impact leader to anchor our consulting practice.
With the recent expansion of our team, we are seeking a Senior Consultant who is a true “dual-threat”: a technical expert capable of signing off on geological reports (QP/CP status) and a strategic thinker capable of valuing complex assets.
You will not just be “running numbers.” You will be a lead voice in the company, overseeing geology projects, managing client relationships, and utilizing Mineralocity—our proprietary market intelligence platform—to solve the industry’s hardest challenges.
Primary Responsibilities (The “Seller-Doer”)
- Technical Authority (QP/Sign-Off): Serve as the Qualified Person (QP) for S-K 1300 and NI 43-101 technical reports. You will oversee geological exploration programs, verify data, and sign off on resource estimates.
- Valuation & Economics: Lead the creation of complex financial models (DCF) for quarries and industrial mineral projects. You will determine what a project is worth and defend that valuation to investors and banks.
- Project Leadership: Manage consulting projects from kickoff to final delivery. This includes overseeing field teams (geologists/techs), managing budgets, and ensuring the “Burgex Standard” of quality.
- Strategic Growth: Act as a key leader in growing the department. You will interface directly with clients, identify new opportunities, and help shape the future of our consulting practice.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior geologists and analysts.
The “Burgex Fit” (Who You Are)
- You Know Aggregates: You understand the unique economics of crushed stone, sand, gravel, and industrial minerals. You know that location and logistics matter just as much as geology.
- You Are Decisive: You have the experience to look at a dataset, make a judgment call on resource classification, and put your signature on it.
- You Are Business-Minded: You understand that a mine is a business. You can read a P&L as well as you can read a drill log.
Why Burgex?
- Key Leadership Role: You aren’t just a number. You are a leader in a fast-growing, agile firm.
- Tech Advantage: Leverage Mineralocity, the industry’s leading market intelligence platform, to deliver insights competitors can’t match.
- Hybrid Impact: The rare opportunity to balance high-level strategic consulting with technical geological leadership.
To Apply Please submit a resume and a cover letter detailing your experience with construction aggregates and your eligibility for QP status.
