The Doe Run Company is seeking a Vice President, Sales and Marketing who will be responsible for all commercial aspects of global sales for The Doe Run Company including sales of metal and concentrates. In this role, the VP of Sales and Marketing directs the development of plans, strategies, objectives, and policies that conform to broad company marketing objectives.  In addition, he/she is responsible for customer service functions, and developing and maintaining relationships with customers and the metals and mining industry at large. This position will be located at our Corporate Office in St. Louis, MO.

This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan.  Benefits start the first day and include insurance, paid time off, and various consumer discount programs.

Requirements

Education & Experience: 

  •  At least 10 years in marketing and sales management.
  • Experience in the base metals or base metal concentrate business required.
  • Spanish Communication skills helpful. 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field. 
  • Background or education in one of the physical sciences such as Chemistry or Metallurgy preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Managing complex sales contract negotiations. 
  • Strong leadership skills in a department comprised of various teams in a complex business. 
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Suite. 
  • Ability to analyze and use data to make business, commercial, and budget decisions. 
  • Ability to successfully work with customers and negotiate contracts and other agreements.  
  • Proven track record of strong communication, influencing skills, and the ability to liaise with the most senior/executive levels of the organization. 
  • Experience in successfully creating a culture of high performance and talent retention, fostering results and accountability. 
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop plans and strategies to achieve sales goals.
  • Manage sales and transportation team to deliver profitable growth. 
  • Formulate business strategies for Doe Run.
  • Engage in Executive Team level strategy formulation and long-term planning. 
  • Provide accurate budget planning and sales forecasts for the business. 
  • Manage customer expectations and contribute to high-level customer satisfaction. 
  • Attend and prepare for industry symposia held globally and represent the organization in industry associations. 

Work Environment, Physical & Lifting: 

  • Work is generally performed in a standard office setting.  Domestic and international travel is required 25% of the time. 
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand, and walk.  Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.  Occasionally required to wear personal protective equipment when in operations. 
  • May be required to lift up to 15 pounds.
