Stormwater Engineer II (JOB ID: 1979)

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Stormwater Engineer to work in either our Fort Worth or Dallas office. Applicants should be able to perform routine engineering work related to stormwater modeling and design that requires application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Applicant must have experience with hydrology and hydraulic software as follows: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoHMS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-RAS 2D, XP-SWMM, ArcGIS, Autocad or Microstation and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in developing Stormwater masterplans for both municipalities as well as for federal installations is a plus. Experience with the preparation of design plans, technical specifications, and opinion of probable construction costs of closed systems, open channels, culverts and bridges, and detention ponds is required.
Applicant should have a firm understanding of common applications such as the Rational Method, Unit Hydrography Methods, Manning’s Equation, and HGL calculations. Applicant must be able to communicate clearly through strong technical writing as well as in verbal situations such as meetings and phone conferences. Applicant must work well in a team environment, be able to take direction from multiple Project Managers concurrently, and be able to accommodate multiple concurrent priorities successfully.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and at least one year of relative experience in Stormwater Engineering. Applicant must be a registered EIT within the State of Texas or able to become registered within one month of starting. Bilingual skills are given higher consideration.
