The City of Aurora is currently seeking two licensed Professional Civil Engineers to assist with various capital improvement projects and programs.
One Professional Civil Engineer will be focused on transportation, including overseeing consulting engineers and city staff in the planning, design, and construction of roadway and bridge improvements. Additionally, they will manage all federal and motor fuel tax funded projects.
The other Professional Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing consulting engineers and city staff in the planning, design, and construction of stormwater and underground utility improvements as required per the City’s CSO NPDES permit, and assisting with managing the City’s MS4 Stormwater Program.
Both positions require a bachelor’s degree of science in Civil Engineering with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience, progressively responsible, in the planning, design, and construction of public works improvements, including project management and supervisory experience. A strong background in construction observation and resident engineering of major utility projects is preferred. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and geographical information systems is a plus. The candidate must be able to obtain an Illinois Professional Engineer license within 6 months of hire, and must possess a valid driver’s license.
Pay range $42.13/hr.-$54.78/hr., depending on experience. Excellent benefit package included.
