The Division is responsible for providing secure, clean and comfortable facilities for citizens, visitors, and staff. The Division’s total net operating budget for FY18 is $16.3 million with $14.3 million funded through the general fund. The Division has a team of 64 FTEs, supplemented by 150+ contracted employees for security, pest control, landscaping and grounds maintenance, janitorial services and other maintenance services. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Public/Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a closely related field; six (6) years of progressively responsible managerial experience in construction, facilities, or property management or as an operations division director; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Candidates must meet all promotional eligibility requirements and certifications and complete training, certification and licensing from the State of Florida for Security D and G licenses within one year of appointment. Experience in significant capital (vertical) construction, renovations, real estate, contracts management, negotiations, and budgeting is needed. A background in civil or mechanical engineering or architecture is beneficial.
